Well, finally here! And by that, I mean it took a full hour just to get to our apartment after entering the village because of all the security checkpoints. On the bus on the way in, I rode with a fencer from Canada and the Mexican swim team. I have some video footage, but I won't be able to upload it for a while. The bus got it's own 'Olympic lane' - the streets were literally paved with the rings.
We were able to see all of the sites on the way in, but I was too busy taking it all in to take many pictures! Hopefully I will have more time to explore later. But for now, this is what I have:

Now once I got into the village, there was also a lot to see.
All of the bedrooms look like this. We get to keep the Olympic quilt at the end, so I am excited for that!

After getting settled, I was oh so very grateful, to get the opportunity to swim 5200m after an 8 hour flight. However, the practice pool was amazing! It's right in the village and there are 3 Olympic sized pools in a row as well as a water polo pool right next to it. I have yet to see the competition pool, but I'll post pictures as soon as I can! Hopefully I will get a chance to take some video as well!I'll have a lot more time to explore today so I'll try to get some better pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to post more today! Good luck to everyone at their swim meets!
