Double Decker
The transport to and from swimming is on a double decker bus. I always find it awkward to stand looking around the first level, looking though the crowded bus for an open seat so I usually try to look through the bus windows before hand. I did just this, this morning after practice. Sure enough, I saw one last open seat on the lower level so I made a bee-line for it. (That way I wouldn't have to ruin my taper walking up a level) Once I've taken a seat and put my bags down, I look up and realize I'm in the middle of the majority of the US swim team. The entire first level of the bus is filled with the US Olympic team + Heather Arseth. I am LITERALLY the only one from another country on the first level of the bus. My thoughts: "Shoot I wonder if they reserved the lower part of the bus for themselves... wait no, they can't do that. Crap, what if they have a team meeting and I'm sitting here in the middle, trying to look like I'm not listening...." Well, it turned out okay. No team meeting, so it was all good. I think it was the first time I saw Michael Phelps without a disguise, though.
