2 Pins Down...
Tonight, I met Serena Williams. Poor girl was being bombarded by people wanting to take pictures with her, but she was excited to see Mauritius! Turns out, she will be vacationing in Mauritius soon so she asked for some of our pins. I was the only one that had them so I gave her one (expecting a trade), but instead of giving me one back, she asked me for another one for her sister. Ah well! At least my pins will be in good hands!
Feelin' HOT HOT HOT
It's been a pretty sluggish day...
The weather has been getting REALLY hot lately and I'm not sure if there's no A/C or if it just doesn't work that well, but it's hot and stuffy inside, too. Hopefully we'll be getting some fans tonight, because it's hard to sleep in this hot weather.
Just messing around on the balcony with Christianne - trying to get some fresh air.
Posing a Threat
Every time you go to practice, you have to take a bus to the pool (whether it's Eton Manor-the practice pool or the Aquatics Center-the competition pool). And every time you go back to the village, you have the go through security. This security is full-blown 'airport security', too. You've got to put your bags through a scanner and walk through a metal detector.
Today, I was stopped. The guard wanted to know if I had a sword in my swim bag........... um, no. I'm in swimming, not jousting. However, once the guard saw that I was an athlete, he just let me through without checking my bag. I think it's because I gave him a pretty dirty look when he asked if I had a sword in my bag. I didn't mean to, but I was just SO thoroughly confused by his question.

NAILS!!!
Today I got my nails done and they look great!! Take a look:
The salon had a photo booth so I took a few pictures:
I absolutely love my nails! I'm planning on getting them done at least one more time before I go. They might only be able to paint Olympic-related designs, but I'm going to ask for a hawkeye design on the last day! :)
Ring Finger: Mauritius Flag
Middle Finger: Olympic Rings
Pointer Finer: British Flag (for London, of course!)
Pinky & Thumb: Red

My wonderful nail artist, Roxanne Campbell!! :)
My friend, Christianne, from Judo.
Lunch with MORE Champions
Today I ended up eating lunch with the Mexican swim team. As I sit down, I look up and two tables over is the American swim team... AGAIN. Well some of them anyway: Nathan Adrian, Matt Grevers, Ryan Lochte, and Cullen Jones. It's so weird seeing all of these people that I'm used to watching on TV. After we've eaten, we get up to put our dishes and trays away. Lochte was doing so at the same time and the girl on the Mexican team that I was sitting next to runs up and hugs him. Apparently, they're good friends... (such a small world!)
SIDE NOTE: Ryan Lochte is much shorter in person.

Breakfast with Champions
This morning breakfast was pretty full, but I wasn't surprised because more and more athletes are arriving every day. After I've gotten my food, I'm heading over to get a drink and a place to sit when I see the US swim team. Of course, I'm intrigued! My first thought: Where is Rachel!? I can't wait to see her because it's a little piece of home that I'll have with me here in London. In fact, we're having lunch together today!! Cant wait :D Anyway, I kind of 'casually glanced' around their table as I walked by, looking for anyone interesting, and sure enough there is Michael Phelps. Poor guy can't even enjoy a decent breakfast in the Olympic Village - He's sitting there in a hoodie and sunglasses along with 2 'body guards' (and his teammates of course). But if we're being honest... his disguise was terrible.

#HawkeyeNation
I ran into my hawkeye fan again! She was so excited to see me and it's so nice being able to talk to someone from back home. I think I will be seeing a lot of her because she works at the bus stop next to the bus stop for the Aquatics Center. She wanted to take a picture, so I got one as well! (made sure to get my hawkeye mesh bag in there)
GO HAWKS!
